Central Rural Electric Cooperative members from District 7 came together Tuesday night, May 31, to honor Louise Ethridge, who retired this spring from the CREC board after nearly two decades of service to the cooperative. A community reception was held in Ethridge’s hometown of Stroud, where friends and family as well as CREC employees gathered to thank Ethridge for her leadership and dedication as a trustee.

Central Rural Electric Cooperative crews worked through the night Tuesday and Wednesday morning to restore power to members after a severe thunderstorm and possible tornado swept through southwest Payne County, causing extensive property damage and knocking out power to approximately 2,500 CREC members.
